I really wanted to like this product because the concept is great. Being able to turn weight plates into a kettlebell takes up way less space than owning a full set of kettlebells, which is a huge plus for home gyms.
Unfortunately, it fell short for me.
First off, the listing title itself is confusing because it references dumbbells, but this product actually has nothing to do with dumbbells. It’s designed to work with standard 1" weight plates, not Olympic plates (2"). That’s an important distinction and something that could easily confuse buyers.
The plastic construction also doesn’t feel very heavy duty. Because of that, I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable using this for anything dynamic like swings. It just doesn’t feel secure enough, and I’d worry about it coming apart and potentially causing injury or damage.
I also think the design could be improved. The bottom portion screws into the main shaft, and then that shaft screws into the handle. When everything is tightened down to secure the weights, trying to unscrew it becomes tricky because the bottom part just spins. It’s a little hard to explain, but the result is that connecting and disconnecting the pieces isn’t as simple as it should be.
The 33 lb weight limit is another limitation. While that might be fine for some users, I personally would prefer a higher capacity to make it more versatile.
Another thing worth mentioning is the product photos. They show the handle filled with plates, but unless you have several smaller plates, it probably won’t look that full in real life. Most people using standard plates will likely have more gap.
One positive I will mention is the handle grip. It’s comfortable, smooth, and doesn’t have any rough edges, which I appreciated.
Overall, it’s a really cool idea for saving space in a home gym, but the design and durability just didn’t give me enough confidence to use it the way I’d want to.
