I wear my hair up on sponge rollers at least 4x a week for the last 7 years and at least weekly for the last 45 years. I am WELL acquainted with foam sponge rollers. The plastic frame is firm and doesn't bend easily. I didn't have any break, but could lead to breakage. The foam on the roller is my complaint. It is SUPER firm (like pool noodle firm). I tried soaking in water, massaging a bit and then letting them dry (a good tip for most that are hard on initial package open). No dice. Super hard. Even though I used more rollers and significantly less hair, it didn't curl at all (couldn't put tension on it) and due to no give it it left dents all through my hair (not just on the first wrap around the roller at the top). Don't waste your time on these. There are better out there.
