I installed the bottom tier high enough to fit a row of weights on the floor under it, effectively giving me a fourth tier and more storage in the same footprint. Even with the rack having less support at the bottom, and a higher center of gravity, it is as solid as if it was bolted down.
It was easy to assemble using the tools supplied. It takes up less than 3 feet of space on a single wall, allowing me to get rid of two piles of dumbbells I had littering up the area around my bench. One of the barbell holders fits my kettlebell handle perfectly. And I hung my loaded triceps bar on one of the plate pegs. This thing makes great use of space!
The shelves are plenty wide for many weights. I currently have 22 dumbbells ranging from 5 up to 80 lbs. The top shelf has 5 – 20 lbs in 2 1/2 lb increments. The center shelf has 25 – 40 lbs in 5 lb increments. The bottom has 45 – 60 lbs in 5 lb increments. On the floor under the bottom shelf has 65 – 80 lbs in 5 lb increments. None of those shelves look at all cramped, and the top two had room for several duplicate weights. I no longer need to waste time looking for a specific dumbbell, as they're now very easy to find.
I highly recommend this. It cost about the same as one 70 lb dumbbell, and is worth every penny
