Recently, Michael sat down for a solo episode to share the 7 key habits that changed his life and elevated his mindset.

From morning rituals and productivity to mental clarity and relationships, these high-impact habits are designed to help you live a more focused, fulfilling life.

In the episode, Michael breaks down the power of diverse perspectives and critical thinking, investing in yourself, prioritizing what truly matters, his detailed morning routine – including supplements he cannot live without, the importance of daily movement, and the value of asking yourself the hard questions.

Seven Highly Effective Habits That Will Change Your Life

Optimized Morning Routine and Supplementation

Develop your own morning routine to start the day off right and for mental clarity. Michael wakes up before his family so he has time to set intentions. He supplements with 16oz of water, collagen, sea salt and lemon. He takes L-tyrosine (every other day), Acetyl-L-Carnitine (use code SKINNY), NAC and Fatty 15 (use code SKINNY).

Daily Physical Movement and Accountability

We all know that daily movement is essential for mental and physical well-being. Michael strength trains 3-4 times a week, plays tennis and takes walks with Lauryn regularly. Your routine might look different, but the key is to move every single day.

Focus on Essential Tasks, Not To-Do Lists

Instead of crossing little things off to-do lists, focus on an essentials list of impactful work that delivers the most results. Living in your inbox doesn’t move the needle, but delegating and working on tasks that only YOU can do, will. Not only will you accomplish more, you’ll train your brain to tackle the hardest most important things first.

Self-Assessment Through Hard Questions

Ask yourself the same questions you would ask if you were investing in a person or company. Take a hard look at your financial habits, the quality of your relationships, your integrity, the kind of parent you are, your discipline and so on. You can easily use ChatGPT to generate a list of questions to ask yourself. It’ll help keep you accountable and discover how to improve.

Never Assume, ASK

Ask, never assume. This is relative to all aspects of life: business, parenting, love, friendship etc. Have open conversations about needs, wants and what’s expected of you in all aspects of life. Check in with your spouse, children, parents and colleagues about how (and they) show up. It’ll strengthen connections and lay everything out on the table.

Learn and Read, Far and Wide

Expose yourself to things you know nothing about. Choose a book, a podcast or documentary on a subject that’s totally new and learn. The point is to get outside your usual interests and broaden your perspective. This is not limited to books, try a new activity or hobby too. Here are some books to start with:

Confederacy of Dunces

Who Knew

Fourth Wing

Havana Nocturne

In Cold Blood

Leviathan and Wakes

The Courage to Be Disliked

View Things From Other Perspectives

Whether in a conflict, an unfortunate situation or a fortunate one, always be aware of someone else’s perspective. Having other viewpoints build trust, connection and better critical thinking for yourself.
