If you ever get Halle Berry and Halle Bailey mixed up, Bailey’s newest Halloween costume might throw you for a loop. Bailey channeled her name twin by transforming into the iconic actor, and coincidentally hopped on one of fall’s biggest hair trends.
There’s a lot of lore to unpack: Yesterday, Bailey posted a slideshow of photos detailing her Halloween costume to Instagram, cheekily pointing to the duo’s matching names by captioning the post “Halleween.” In the photoshoot, the 24-year-old is dressed as Berry’s character Jinx in the 2002 James Bond film,Die Another Day, swapping her long curls for a classic ’90s pixie cut.
Okay, yes, it’s just a costume but the timing and specific Halle Berry look feels too coincidental to write the pixie cut’s resurgence off. The haircut is having a comeback moment, with everyone from Megan Thee Stallion to Zendaya dipping their toes into the short chop this fall. Bailey’s take on the look mirrored Berry’s in the film, and featured a short, choppy cut with wispy pieces falling onto her forehead and tiny sideburns at the edge of her temples.
Of course, Bailey also re-created Jinx’s outfit to a T. She styled an orange matching bikini with a white belt, just like Berry.
On her Instagram story, Bailey addressed comments that the photos were AI generated because people couldn’t believe her hair fit under the tiny pixie cut wig. “Lol it wasn’t AI the wig really fit,” she said, tagging the team who helped her achieve the look: hairstylist, Tinisha Meeks, makeup artist Christiana Cassell, and stylist Nicky Good.
Happy Halloween! The pixie is officially back—what a treat.
