Demi Moore’s Shimmery Soap Nails Are the Best of Both Worlds

Nooooo, you don’t have to pick one or the other. In fact, you shouldn’t ever put yourself in a box like that. The whole point of The Substance was to “remember you are one.” Old you and young you were/are the same person, and that person can like both green and pink. On the manicure side of things, that also means you can be into both a shimmery finish and a simple soap nail. Sometimes, the best way to satisfy your whole being is to integrate parts of both styles.

For her latest awards season red carpet appearance, the Oscar-nominated Demi Moore arrived at the BAFTAs wearing a glittering, stained glass-esque Alexander McQueen gown. Her long brown hair was as sleek and shiny as ever, and her nails boasted the perfect balance-respecting shimmery soap manicure: a look that fits into both the ever-popular glazed and rising star soap nail categories.

Simple at first glance, the 62-year-old’s nails were filed into a rounded square shape. Then, they were painted with a perfect skin-matching nude pink shade to give off that “freshly washed” look. Finally, a slight sweep of chrome powder was dusted on to make them catch the light.

Dubbed a “glazed nude” manicure by London-based nail artist Imarni, the pretty style was made possible with hand care products by Joonbyrd (moisturized hands and nicely trimmed cuticles are so important in the world of a soap girl mani).

In some behind-the-scenes photos posted to her Instagram story, Imarni shared a kit full of the unbranded chrome powders she likely used to get that shimmer as well as Joonbyrd’s Palm Wild Replenishing Hand Wash, Wonder-Land Fortifying Hand Lotion, and Confetti Sky Hand Treatment.
